Our Food Pantry

OUR FOOD PANTRY WILL BE CLOSED TUESDAY DECEMBER 31, 2024;

NORMAL OPERATION WILL RESUME THE FOLLOWING WEEK.

LCC Food Pantry continues its Tuesday weekly operation but we have now returned to inside service via our south door. Our hours are from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Anyone can also call our church office (847/437-5141) to hear the latest information regarding changes to pantry (or church) activities via a recorded message.

Pantry recipients should reside in Cook County. All recipients must now be part of the Greater Chicago Food Depository's new "Link2Feed" intake system. New pantry clients can complete their sign-up for this system with us any Tuesday (they should bring one piece of identification) and receive food the same day they sign-up. Upon completion of the registration, guests will receive a GCFD card which they should bring each time they come to visit. Recipients are allowed to visit us every other week.

Regarding donations, the most needed items are boxed cereal, shampoo and conditioner, diapers, wipes, deodorant, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, dish soap, detergent, and other miscellaneous items.  These can be dropped off Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00am to 4:00pm or Sunday mornings at our 9:30am service.

Lutheran Church of the Cross is grateful to share the bounty that God has provided. As an agency of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, we aim to provide our guests a wide variety of healthy food options including (depending on availability): produce, meat, eggs, and milk. We also offer a selection of nonperishable food items to choose from.

At present, our food pantry currently serves approximately 170 families per week.
